Yes — you can spend the day at a pool in Phuket without booking a room, and at Soho the pool itself is free. There is no day pass and no entry fee — you order something from the bar or the kitchen, and the pool is yours for the day. We are at Boat Lagoon Marina in Koh Kaew, open 8 AM to 10 PM daily, with free parking. The only thing that carries a charge is Soho Wellness — the sauna and ice bath — at 300 THB.

What a Day Costs Here

Most answers to “day pass in Phuket” are hotels and resorts selling access to their pool for the afternoon. That is a real option and sometimes the right one. It is just not what we do.
The pool at SohoA typical hotel or resort day pass
Pool accessFreePaid, usually per person
Minimum spendNoneOften a food-and-drink minimum, or credit toward it
BookingNot needed to swim; recommended for a table if you are a groupUsually booked ahead, sometimes capacity-limited
Hours8 AM – 10 PM daily; kitchen 11 AM – 10 PMCommonly daytime only
Sauna and ice bath300 THB day pass, optionalVaries; often spa-priced separately
ParkingFree on site, plenty of spaceVaries
SettingMarina-side, Koh Kaew — quiet east coastUsually beachfront, west coast
Whether that suits you depends on what you want from the day. If you want sand and surf, go west to a beach. If you want a pool, shade, somewhere proper to eat and an afternoon that costs what you choose to spend, this is the easier answer.

The Pool Is Free — What That Actually Means

There is no entry fee, no day pass and no wristband. You order something from the bar or the kitchen — a coffee, a smoothie, a beer, lunch — and the pool, the loungers, the changing facilities and the Wi-Fi are yours for the day. That is the whole arrangement.

It is a different deal from a beach club, where a day bed alone can cost 300 to 1,000 THB before you have had a drink. Here your money goes on what you actually wanted anyway. We would rather have a busy pool than a gated one.The open-air poolside area has sun loungers, deck seating and tropical planting around it, with the marina and the boats just beyond. The bar sits alongside the pool, so a drink is a short walk rather than a trip indoors. If you want a sense of how a day here actually unfolds rather than what it costs, we wrote that up separately: a free pool day in Phuket, and what to expect.Free swimming pool at Soho Pool Club, Boat Lagoon Marina, Phuket

Soho Wellness: the Part That Does Cost 300 THB

Poolside at Soho is Soho Wellness — a five-person Clearlight infrared sauna and Bison ice baths, on a 300 THB day pass. That is the only paid entry on site. What it is good for: muscle and joint relief, somewhere warm to sit after exercise, relaxation, and better sleep the same night. What we will not tell you it does: it does not detoxify you, it does not boost your immune system, and it is not a weight-loss tool. Those claims get made a lot in wellness marketing and they are not supported. If you have a heart condition, blood-pressure issues, are pregnant, or have any cardiovascular concern, speak to your doctor first. The team will happily talk you through easing in.

Opening Hours and When to Come

The pool is open 8 AM to 10 PM, every day. The kitchen runs 11 AM to 10 PM.Mornings are the quietest and the coolest, and the light on the marina is at its best before about ten. Early afternoon is the busiest stretch and the hottest — there is shade, but between roughly noon and three the sun is genuinely strong. Late afternoon into evening is the stretch most regulars pick: the heat drops, the marina turns gold, and on Fridays Happy Hour runs 5 PM to 7 PM with beers at 70 THB++, wine and sparkling by the glass at 100 THB++ and Mojitos and Aperol Spritz at 180 THB++.

How to Spend a Day Here

  1. Arrive mid-morning. Around 9 or 10 AM, before the heat and before the lunch rush.
  2. Take a lounger and swim. No check-in, no wristband — just find a spot.
  3. Order breakfast poolside if you skipped it. The Soho Breakfast is 250 THB++, or build your own from eggs, bacon, avocado and sourdough.
  4. Move into the shade around noon. The strongest sun runs from about midday to three.
  5. Eat properly at lunch. Khao Soi Gai at 290 THB++ is the dish people come back for; the Smash Burger is 420 THB++.
  6. Add the sauna and ice bath if you want them. 300 THB, poolside, no need to book in advance.
  7. Go upstairs if there is sport on. The Clubhouse runs two large screens — F1, AFL, rugby, football.
  8. Stay for the light. Late afternoon over the marina is the best hour of the day, and Friday Happy Hour starts at five.

Where We Are, and Getting Here

Soho is at 23 Boat Lagoon Marina, Moo 2, Koh Kaew, Ampur Mueang, Phuket 83000 — on the island’s quieter east coast, about fifteen minutes from Phuket Town and twenty from the airport. There is free parking on site with plenty of space. Taxi and ride-hailing drivers know Boat Lagoon by name, so you do not need to explain the address — “Boat Lagoon Marina” is enough. If you are staying in town and weighing up the drive, our guide to swimming near Phuket Town covers the routes and the alternatives honestly.Marina View from Soho

Eating and Drinking by the Pool

Chef Ai runs the kitchen, sourcing from local farmers and fishermen and cooking Thai alongside burgers, pasta, flatbreads and salads. There is a proper kids’ section — chicken strips 200 THB++, nuggets 180 THB++, fish fingers 200 THB++ — which matters when one child eats only nuggets and another wants tom yum.Drinks run from smoothies and mocktails to cocktails, wine and cold beer. Food and drink can be ordered to your lounger. All prices are ++, meaning 7% VAT and 10% service are added. The full list is in the 2026 menu, and the restaurant page has more on the kitchen.

What Else Is On Site

The pool is one part of the complex. Upstairs, The Clubhouse is a sports lounge with two screens and a bar. The Andaman Dining Room is an air-conditioned private room for groups. And SIMPRO Academy runs professional racing and flight simulators indoors — 60 minutes for 1,300 THB, and one of the few things in Phuket that works in any weather. It means a group that wants different things does not have to split up. Someone swims, someone watches the football, someone races, and everyone eats in the same place afterwards.

Who It Suits, and Who It Doesn’t

It works well for families — the pool is free, there is a kids’ menu, and there is shade. It works for people staying in Phuket Town or Koh Kaew with no pool where they are. It works for anyone who wants a long lunch that turns into an afternoon.Being straight about the rest: we are not on a beach. Soho is marina-side, and if what you want is sand and waves, a west-coast beach club is the better choice. We have no accommodation, so this is a day out rather than a stay. There is no swim-up bar — the bar sits beside the pool, not in it. And we are not a nightclub; the pool closes at ten.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a day pass for the pool in Phuket at Soho?

You do not need one. There is no day pass and no entry fee for the pool at Soho Pool Club — you simply order something from the bar or the kitchen and the pool is yours for the day. The only paid day pass on site is Soho Wellness, at 300 THB, which covers the infrared sauna and the ice baths.

How much does it cost to use the swimming pool?

There is no entry fee and no day pass. Pool use is included when you order from the bar or the kitchen, along with the loungers, changing facilities and Wi-Fi. Food and drink are charged as ordered, and all menu prices are subject to 7% VAT and 10% service charge.

Do I need to book to use the pool?

No booking is needed to swim. If you are a group of more than four and want a table for lunch or dinner, ring +66 81 787 7702 or use the contact form — walk-ins are fine for smaller groups.

Is the pool suitable for children?

Yes. Families are welcome, there is a dedicated kids’ section on the menu, and there is shade around the poolside area. Children remain the responsibility of the adults with them — there is no lifeguard on duty.

Is there a swim-up bar?

No. The bar sits beside the pool rather than in it, and drinks can be brought to your lounger. It is a short walk from the water, not a seat in it.

What else is there to do besides swimming?

A Place Where a Day Costs What You Choose to Spend

Phuket does not make it easy to find a pool you can simply turn up to. Most of them come attached to a room you are not renting or a pass you have to buy. Ours does not — the water is free, the parking is free, and the rest is up to you.Come and swim.
