A pool party Phuket visitors actually remember does not need a DJ, a cover charge or a wristband. At Soho Pool Club, Boat Lagoon Marina, private poolside parties are booked through the events team as bucks and hens celebrations, birthday parties or corporate days. There is no entry fee — the pool is free to use when you order from the bar or kitchen — and the whole venue closes at 10 PM.

Do you know why almost every search for a pool party in Phuket lands you in Patong? Yes — because that is the version of Phuket the island advertises hardest: dance floors, ticketed day passes, sponsored DJ sets. Plenty of people want exactly that. But it is a poor fit for the group that turns up with a father-in-law, two children and a friend flying out at 6 AM.

This guide covers the other version — how to plan and book a private pool party Phuket side at a marina venue, with published prices, real closing times, and the honest limits of what Soho can and cannot do.

What a Pool Party at Boat Lagoon Marina Actually Looks Like

Soho Pool Club sits at 23 Boat Lagoon Marina, Moo 2, Koh Kaeo, about fifteen minutes north of Phuket Town and twenty from the airport. The setting is a working marina on the island’s east coast — yachts, colonial-style buildings, still water — not a beach. The east coast does not get the surf, the sunset crowds or the Bangla Road spillover the west coast does.

pool party Phuket side at Soho runs from the pool deck: sun loungers and deck seating around the water, the bar on one side, Chef Ai’s kitchen behind it, the Clubhouse sports lounge upstairs and Soho Wellness poolside. Parking is free and plentiful, which matters more than it sounds when twenty people arrive separately.

Two things it is not. Soho is not a nightclub — no DJ-led club nights, and the licensed bar is 20+ under Thai law. And Soho is not on a beach; if a beachfront dance floor is what your group actually wants, our honest guide to Phuket’s beach clubs and pool clubs names the venues that do it properly, Patong included.

Three Spaces You Can Book for a Pool Party at Soho

Soho publishes three event formats — bucks and hens parties, corporate events, and birthdays and anniversaries — and they map onto three physical spaces. Pick the space first; everything else follows.

SpaceBest forSettingWeather riskSwimming
Pool deck, daytimeFamilies, bucks and hens groups, all-day hangoutsOpen-air, sun loungers, tropical plantingExposed — green season showers pass throughYes, all day
Pool deck, eveningBirthdays, anniversaries, sundowner groupsPoolside under the lights, marina backdropLower — evenings are usually dryYes, until close

Capacity for the Andaman Dining Room is not published — Soho quotes it on enquiry, because the room is configured differently for a seated dinner than for a standing reception. Ask for your headcount specifically.

How to Book a Private Pool Party at Soho: Seven Steps

  1. Fix your date and headcount first. Both change what Soho can offer and whether a deposit applies. Approximate numbers are fine at this stage.
  2. Send the enquiry through the form at sohophuket.com/soho-phuket-contact, by email to info@simbaseatrips.com, or by phone on +66 81 787 7702.
  3. Say which of the three spaces you want — daytime pool deck, evening pool deck, or the Andaman Dining Room — and whether you need the group seated or standing.
  4. Agree the food format. Set menu, sharing platters, Moo Krata BBQ or à la carte all work, but they cost and pace very differently. Read the 2026 menu PDF before this conversation, not during it.
  5. Confirm whether a deposit is required and what it covers. Private event hire, cabana reservations and large group dining may all carry one; the amount is set case by case, so take it from the team rather than from any website.
  6. Wait for written confirmation. A verbal yes is not a booking at Soho — the reservation is only confirmed once you have it in writing.
  7. Tell your guests the finish time. Soho closes at 10 PM. Build the evening around that instead of discovering it at 9:45.

What a Pool Party at Soho Actually Costs

There is no ticket, no cover charge and no day pass for the pool. The pool is free to use when you order something from the bar or kitchen — that is the only condition, and it applies to every guest. So the cost of a pool party Phuket side at Soho is simply what your group eats and drinks, plus any deposit on a private hire.

All figures below come from Soho’s published 2026 menu, and every price is subject to 7% VAT and 10% service charge.

  • Soho Platter — 480 THB. Crackers, cheeses, salami, olives and fruit. The obvious opener for a group.
  • Moo Krata Pork BBQ Set for 2 — 690 THB. Soho’s flagship communal Thai BBQ, with vegetables, egg, glass noodles and broth. Add sliced beef or seafood for 200 THB, an extra pork or chicken plate for 150 THB.
  • Khao Soi Gai — 290 THB, the kitchen’s best seller. Soho Smash Burger — 420 THB, two 100g Australian Wagyu patties.
  • The Soho Club — 300 THB. The house cocktail: white, dark and coconut rum, lime, fresh coconut water.
  • Kids’ menu — chicken nuggets 180 THB, fish and chips 330 THB, margherita pizza 280 THB, ice cream sundae 150 THB.

Google review data puts average spend per person at Soho between ฿1,600 and ฿1,800 — a realistic planning figure for a party where people eat a main, drink properly and stay for dessert. A daytime group grazing on platters and beers lands well under it.

Drinks, Happy Hour and Bringing Your Own Bottle

Every Friday from 5 to 7 PM Soho runs a permanent Happy Hour — confirmed by Soho management in August 2026 as an ongoing offering, not a seasonal promotion. Singha, Chang and Leo are 70 THB++, a glass of Birchgrove Birds Block white or red is 100 THB++, and Cold River Brut sparkling is 100 THB++, half its usual glass price. Mojitos and Aperol Spritz drop to 180 THB++. Only those two cocktails are included — the rest of the list stays at menu price. If your party falls on a Friday, a five o’clock start is the best-value scheduling decision available, and it puts the group poolside for sunset over the marina.

You can also bring your own. Corkage is 450 THB++ per bottle of wine and 1,000 THB++ per bottle of spirits. For a special bottle at a milestone birthday that usually makes sense; for a general restock it does not.

Deposits and the Cancellation Window

Private events run on a different cancellation policy from a normal dinner reservation, and this is the part most people find out too late. The terms below are from Soho’s published Refund and Reservation Policy.

Booking typeCancelled more than 14 days ahead7–14 days aheadLess than 7 days ahead
Private event or group bookingFull deposit refunded, minus any non-recoverable costs already incurred50% of the deposit retainedDeposit non-refundable
Ordinary pool club or dining reservationFull refund of any deposit up to 24 hours beforeNon-refundable inside 24 hours, or on a no-show

Cancellations must be in writing, and there is a fifteen-minute grace period on arrival before a reservation is treated as a no-show. If Soho has to cancel for weather or anything else outside its control, you get a full refund or a reschedule at no extra cost.

What Else Your Group Can Do the Same Day

Groups book a marina venue rather than a beach club because not everyone in the group wants the same day. Within one complex your party can split up and come back together.

Downstairs, Soho Wellness runs a five-person Clearlight infrared sauna and Bison ice baths poolside. A session covering both is 300 THB for one person, or 800 THB as a family day rate for two adults aged 15 and over plus two children — one combined session, not two separate prices. Heat, cold, then rest in the lounge with herbal tea, which suits the half of the group that has had enough sun.

Upstairs, the Clubhouse has two large screens showing AFL, Formula 1, rugby and football, with cocktails mixed at the main bar and carried up. During headline matches Soho runs Predict and Win, which reliably turns the quiet corner of a party into the loud one.

And inside the complex, SIMPRO Academy Phuket runs professional-grade racing and flight simulators — Silverstone, Monza, Spa-Francorchamps, or a Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog and a MOZA joystick if flying appeals more. The rigs are fixed-base, so nobody is thrown around, and food from Soho’s kitchen is delivered to the seat. Book it separately through SIMPRO on +66 62 962 2822.

When to Book: High Season Versus Green Season

Phuket’s high season runs November to April, and that is when a Saturday evening on the pool deck needs booking well ahead. Green season, May to October, is quieter and carries a real but overstated rain risk — the usual pattern is a heavy shower that passes, not a washed-out day. Its concrete advantage for a party is availability: you can hold a date on shorter notice, and the Andaman Dining Room becomes a genuine wet-weather fallback rather than a theoretical one. If your group is travelling specifically for the event, book the indoor room alongside the pool deck whatever the season.

House Rules Worth Knowing Before You Send the Invitation

None of these are unusual, but each has caught out a group at some point.

  • Dress code is smart casual in the dining and bar areas. Swimwear is fine poolside; a cover-up is expected once you move to a table.
  • The licensed bar is 20+. Under-20s are welcome everywhere else — the pool, the dining areas, the Clubhouse — just not at the bar itself. ID may be asked for.
  • The kitchen opens at 11 AM, two hours after the venue does. An early-morning start is fine for coffee and a swim, but plan food from eleven.
  • Last call is governed by a 10 PM close. There is no late licence and no after-party on site.
  • Everyone needs to order. The pool being free is conditional on that, and it applies per guest.

Nolan White, reviewing Soho on Google, described the shape of a good day here better than marketing copy does: “Amazing club! Staff were really friendly… the food was incredible and the club was a great find as after lunch we enjoyed the swimming pool until evening.” Lunch, then the pool until evening. That is the format that works.

How much does a private pool party in Phuket cost?

At Soho Pool Club there is no venue hire ticket and no per-head entry fee — you pay for what your group eats and drinks, plus a deposit if the booking is a private hire. Soho’s published 2026 menu puts sharing platters at 480 THB, the Moo Krata BBQ set for two at 690 THB and cocktails from 260 THB, all plus 7% VAT and 10% service. Google review data gives an average of ฿1,600–1,800 per person for a full sit-down visit. Deposit amounts are quoted case by case by the events team.

Is there a free pool party in Phuket?

Free entry, yes; free drinks, no. A pool party Phuket side at Soho Pool Club carries no entry fee, no cover charge and no day pass for the pool — but every guest needs to order something from the bar or kitchen to use it. That is the condition, and it is the honest answer. Most ticketed beach clubs on the west coast work the other way round, with a paid entry that converts into food and drink credit.

Can you book a private pool party at Soho Pool Club?

Yes. Soho hosts three published event types — bucks and hens parties, corporate events, and birthdays and anniversaries — across the daytime pool deck, the evening pool deck and the indoor air-conditioned Andaman Dining Room. Enquire through the contact form at sohophuket.com/soho-phuket-contact, by email at info@simbaseatrips.com, or by phone on +66 81 787 7702. A booking is confirmed only when Soho sends written confirmation.

What should I bring to a pool party?

For a pool party at Boat Lagoon Marina: swimwear, a cover-up for the dining and bar areas, sunscreen, and ID if anyone in the group looks under 20 and intends to drink. No ticket and no lounger booking are needed. If you are bringing your own wine or spirits, expect corkage of 450 THB++ per wine bottle and 1,000 THB++ per spirit bottle, and tell the team in advance.

How do you host a pool party for a group in Phuket?

Fix the date and headcount, choose between an open-air pool deck and an air-conditioned room, agree the food format before anything else, confirm whether a deposit applies, get the confirmation in writing, and tell your guests the venue’s closing time. At Soho that last point means 10 PM. Groups that plan around the finish time rather than the start time have the better evening.

What time do pool parties in Phuket finish?

It depends on the venue. Soho Pool Club is open 8 AM to 10 PM daily, with the kitchen running 11 AM to 10 PM, so a party here finishes at ten. Patong’s beach and pool clubs run much later and several hold club licences. If your group wants a 2 AM finish, book the west coast; if they want a long afternoon that ends at a sensible hour, book the marina.

Is Soho Pool Club a nightclub or a beach club?

Neither. Soho is a pool club, restaurant, sports lounge, wellness space and simulator centre in one complex at Boat Lagoon Marina, on Phuket’s east coast. There are no DJ-led club nights and it is not on a beach. The nearest honest description is a social house with a pool.

Can children come to a pool party at Soho?

Yes. Under-20s are welcome throughout the pool, dining areas and Clubhouse; the licensed bar itself is the only 20+ area, as Thai law requires. There is a full kids’ menu — nuggets 180 THB, fish and chips 330 THB, margherita pizza 280 THB, sundaes 150 THB — and the family wellness day rate of 800 THB covers two adults aged 15 and over plus two children.

A Place Where the Party Slows Down in the Right Way

The best version of a pool party Phuket can offer is not always the loudest one. It is the one where the grandparents stay for the whole afternoon, the children are fed properly, somebody disappears into an ice bath for three minutes and comes back talking about it, and nobody has to negotiate Bangla Road at midnight to get home.

If that is the day you are trying to build, Soho’s events team will quote it. Use the enquiry form, email info@simbaseatrips.com or call +66 81 787 7702, and have a look at the pool and Chef Ai’s kitchen before you do. We are at 23 Boat Lagoon Marina, Moo 2, Koh Kaeo, on the quieter side of Phuket — open daily 8 AM to 10 PM, kitchen from 11.
